Time for a change

I’ve been seperated & divorced for a few years now and over that time I have tried most of the popular dating sites. I have to say that I keep coming back to the same one, so I thought that today, as an experienced user, I’d write short blog about it…

There are lots of things which most dating sites have in common, e.g.:

  • You can usually add you profile without having to subscribe.
  • You can wink to other members without subscribing (a pain if you’re a paying member because you quickly realise that 90% of the winks you’re getting are from non-subscribers who a just messing around)
  • Once you area paid up member you can send and recieve mesages from other members.

All sites are not the same

What sets some sites apart from other sites is the way information, messages etc. is presented and any extra functionality the site has available.  I happen to like Friends Reunited Dating - the message history view is well thought out so you can easily see all you messages to a person in chronoligical order. It also has instant chat – which is much better than waiting for someone to answer an ‘email’ type message, and the facility to send an ‘e-card’, which is sort of half way between a wink and a message – great if someone catches your eye but you have to go out and don’t want to be lazy just sending a wink. Oh, and did I say Friends Reunited Dating  is cheaper than most of the alternatives?

One or two other sites have been advertising heavily in the media recently and I think this as lead to a lot of people looking at those sites, and many of them joining, but i get the impression many of them are not actually subscribing, hence a great many ‘phantom’ winks on those sites, which make them frustratiung to use.

So, you pays your money and you make your choice (or is  it the other way round?), but I know where my money goes until I find that special person. Other sites I’ve tried and you may want to look at are DatingDirect and FriendFinder .
